Atlanta, hip-hop’s southern home, hosted its ninth annual A3C (All Three Coasts) hip-hop music festival. The festival brought together artists and businesses from across the country. This year’s lineup featured ATL locals like Rich Homie Quan and hot new artists, Meek Mill, ASAP Ferg, Schoolboy Q, and Ty Dolla $ign. Established artists like Ghostface Killah, Too Short, 2 Chainz and B.o.B. made this festival unforgettable.
The A3C addition of #ThePopUpShow, presented by Amalgam Digital & NervEight, took place on Friday October 4th, 2013. Partners [T.W.I.N. Life and YourPartyHub.com] and Sponsors [D’usse ATL, Wade Ford, Reebok, Game Time Enterprises, The Fourth Coming, Vivienne Kelly, The Brandista Guide, and Adrienne Collection] all contributed in making the night possible at the Legendary Apache Café.
For several years, Apache Café has been known for its live music and poetry. The intimate café, with its “exposed brick walls and loft-like style”; philosophy is to provide a place where artists can “make statements about the world and their surroundings”. In doing so, #ThePopUpShow kicked off the night with the talented Baltimore artist Jai, who captured the crowd within seconds.
Delaware native and NervEight alumni KAE Hock was joined by a few fans on stage to shut the *ish down with his hit single ‘Loud’. Another NervEight alumni, T.W.I.N. Life artist Boogie V was so electrifying that he performed the following day on the Revolt TV stage. The show featured an amazing cast that included Rich e. Rheu, Dougie F, Starr Chizzy, D Tweez, Anik Khan, Par-City, and SK4MC; many of who had been featured on the NervEight app previously. MTV’s The Washington Heights’ star Audubon provided the audience with a memorable closeout.
Throughout the night, the audience received a few surprises. One surprise was a special guest performance by Universal Motown artist, STORi. The New Jersey native is a rising star with the ability to paint a vivid picture using edgy lyrics and rhythmic melodies. Stay tuned for her forthcoming single ‘PocketBOOK’.
When the clock struck midnight, it was ‘Paranoid’ time. The headliner, TY Dolla $ign (Ty$) recently signed to Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang Records and Atlantic Records. The new artist is ready to become a household name. His stage presence was brilliant; you could not tell the LA artist was far from home. TY$ performed numerous songs from his mixtape “Beach House 2” (available on iTunes). The fans enjoyed every minute, including the ultimate surprise when he brought out Trae tha Truth, Hustle Gang artist Que, and Atlanta’s very own B.o.B.
